On Saturday June 9, 2018 the members of the Peninsula Pilots team and staff buddied up with the Virginia District 7 Challenger Little League, a team of kids with special needs and disabilities, to play a few games of baseball. Players and interns were set up with a buddy from the little league team to play catch, bat and run the bases on Saturday.
There was a morning game where players and interns met their buddies at their little league field at Deer Park. Then, in the afternoon, the Challenger Little League got to join the Pilots at War Memorial Stadium where they played a two inning game of baseball with more Pilots players. The little league was then welcomed to stay after and watch the Pilots game as they took on the Morehead City Marlins and ended their seven game winning streak.
