The Pilots pursuit of their third Petitt Cup championship ended Sunday night with a 4-3 loss to the Wilson Tobs in the opening round of the playoffs. Oh the perils of single elimination playoffs! A 3-run deficit after the first inning and a high fly ball lost in the fifth inning sky proved too much for the Pilots to overcome. Not that they didn't give it the ole college try scoring three runs in the final two innings.
For now, it hurts; but soon, the pains of seeing it all end will be replaced by the fond memories of baseball played and relationships created. Congratulations to the players, coaches, and the entire Peninsula Pilots organization for another great year of baseball!
